    Please note- this review is only for their web based email. I have been with them for over ten years, and if I could do it all over again i would have NEVER chosen Globat. My account has been down multiple times, I have lost countless emails, and through it all, I can not say one good thing about their customer service. It infuriates me and shame on me for not transferring my service years ago. It's just difficult when you've had the same email address for over ten years!

    I've been with Globat for over 10 years and every minute has been hell. There are constant "upgrades" to your hosting package, with corresponding increases in price. I've had my website hacked twice. I set my plan to NOT auto-renew, which they interpreted as a cancellation. So for the past 3 months, my domain had been host to a site called "Word Quest". When I asked for a refund or three additional months added to my plan for the hassle and loss of business, they refused. I don't know how they stay in business.

    I have never had any complaints about their services, which for me (amateur) were fine, the site is well-organized, support is good etc... HOWEVER, the globat billing practices border on theft or sometimes clearly and simply are theft. They used to send me emails saying that if I do not opt out of an upgrade, they would simply upgrade my account, and off course they would upgrade the bill accordingly. I just discovered that they are charging my credit card for a website that is closed, that they have added several upgrades to my account. The weird thing is that they are doing this to a credit card that did not even exist at the time I was a client with them. Overall, it does not matter how good their service is, or how cheap they are, I have paid three years of hosting ($500) for a website that did not exist, so I can only recommend to stay far away, and complain to your credit card company immediately. If the credit card companies withdraw their cooperation from Globat, the company is out of business immediately, so they do have influence.

    Globat provides you with a website building software which contains some scripts that are not compatible with a Security Certificate on most browsers. If your website is secure it must to show: https; little picture of lock; popups with the statement that a connection is fully encrypted). Globat will force you to purchase the Security Certificate which is essential to accept credit cards by your shopping card. However, Globat never check if this Security Certificate is really working on every browser. If you not a computer geek and trust Globat you will lose all your sales, revenue and possible your business. If your store is not correctly secure, your shopping card will give an instant warning to your customers that your web-store is unencrypted and the information about your customers’ credit cards will be viewed by anyone. Buyers never will purchase anything at your web-store and warn everyone around about your “ fishy” store. When you, finally, understand why you have no sales on your website and ask Globat to correct the problem you will be drugged into endless senseless correspondence with incompetent and indifferent tech-support. If your loss is substantial you probably will end in the Court.

    Although being very cheap (last year they offered me some strange promotional annual package for $1), they have very bad support. They charged my account without authorization, and without any notice. The $1 annual plan was not recurring. Moreover they charged my credit card without permission not for $1, but for $71! Thieves!

    I'd like to share my experience with Globat. We have been a standing customer for around 8 years and recently opened a new domain with Globat to expand our business. Unfortunately Globat's Servers are not good enough to handle Wordpress websites and now I am in need of moving my website over to HostGator. When I called in to see what my options were for cancelling the account I was informed that there is a $15 cancellation fee. After speaking with the rep and letting him know how long we have been doing business with Globat he asked me to hold while he checked if they could waive the fee. He came back on about 5 minutes later to let me know that they will not honor a $15 credit. Whats disappointing is that he gave a very vague explanation as to why. Apparently Globat was not at fault for anything (other than having 32-bit servers instead of 64-bit and also having no options to increase the website speed). Needless to say I will be cancelling the new account and also cancelling the existing account and moving over to HostGator. Even though it looks like nobody uses this wall, I thought it would be good to write my experience so that others don't have to deal with it.

    I have been a Globat customer for many years and I have to admit that I have not encounterd many technical problems until this past year. I have had several problems with email. My mail server was changed a few times and I had some mail missing for a while. I contacted support many times and got the run around. The support was terrible. I also had problems with an upgrade. I was interested in their pro build products for creating my website as I am not well versed in web development. I looked at the free templates and there was nothing there that met my needs and you have no means to alter them except for the color. I contacted support and asked very pointed questions regarding the capabilities of the upgrade and was assured that it would meet me needs. Needless to say it did not. I contacted billing immediately and explained the situation and they would not refund my money. Considering the fact that I had documented contact with their support staff, I felt that my money should have been refunded.
