Wish I had Seen These Review First

There is not one single task I've done that has not required assistance from tech support, since the documentation/instructions are grossly inadequate. I am now trying to upload a Joomla package and unzip it on the server, but it won't unzip there. So trying to upload the unzipped components from my desktop, and time out after time out after time out. I've been reduced to transferring two or three directories/subdirectories at a time, over the course of many hours. Wish I hadn't signed on for three year plan. . . . . live and learn I guess.

I switched to NS from Earthlink's web hosting service a number of years ago. The price and support of NS was far superior to Earthlink.
My experience with NS has been fairly good. My site has been down at times but it hasn't been very frequent and it hasn't been for very long periods of time. Support has been helpful, especially when I contact them through their Facebook account.
My major problem with them was a couple of years ago when a virus infiltrated their servers and infected my site. My site was up but was infected and browsers had labeled the site as "dangerous", They were not helpful in cleaning my site and I finally figured out how to do it but it took several days and a lot of my time to fix it. I almost switched web hosting companies because of that.
Overall, my site runs fairly quickly and problems are few. My feeling is that no company is perfect and as long as I'm happy 99% of the time I'm satisfied

I have been using NS VPS for over a year and have not been able to get my websites in the VPS to run fully. Because I was not able to get the regular nsMail would not work with our software in the VPS I tried to solve the problem by establishing the email boxes in the VPS' Horde Mail system. Since it is self-managed, and I could not get the email settings to work, I submitted a paid "Signature" service request (for which I was promptly charged) to set up the email settings for the three domains I have in the VPS. I had to call incessantly, write several emails every day, and generally spend many unnecessary hours following up on the request to get anyone to do anything other than give me lip service. Finally, towards the end of the 3rd day I ranted on the telephone until I was finally connected to a tech rep in the "Signatures" department. At that point they took some action but on only one of the three domains and it was not a real fix, so I still have inopperative emails. I am still wasting time having to constantly call and write emails to see what the status is, and to get the correct settings into the system. In short, NS is a frustrating waste of time and resources as I'm paying for a server that only limps along. Without a doubt, Customer Service is not a priority at NS. They need to institute a policy of responding to service requests within 24 hours (and I don't mean an auto-reply email) to address the issue fully the first time. I am now having to find another provider.

Its best to call 2 or 3 times to ensure that you get the same answer. The CS staff is terribly under-trained (if they even are trained). On the positive side, the technical CS that helped me set up my account was great.

CS is very inconsistent....I'm on call #3 to cancel my FREE 7 day SEO trial (which I have since been charged $50) for. First call they told me the trial would automatically expire, then next 2 call are go get the refund (no refunds per NWS policy)-- It needs to be escalated. Can you believe it. They make the mistake, charge me, and I have to make 2 calls to get the refund. I still haven't gotten the refund yet! Maybe I will have to call back in 2 business days. Frustrating.

NetSol is stable, and secure. That's the good part. Secure beyond reason sometimes. IF you don't mind spending yourself broke, they can probably build you a nice site. But, if you want to do it yourself, they will cripple many of the tools it takes to do it.. such as adding GA to the header, or any tracker or java in fact needed to actually get any sort of decent counts that relies on code added to the header. Trying to jump back and forth from your own web builder to their WYSIWYG is a real PITA, if you ever use their tool on a page you built with HTML, all the "insecure" code like java and etc just 'goes away'. Yes, they wipe it. And if you ask them to do it FOR you - as you can't access your own index.htm - hahahahahahaha - they might eventually get around to it. They already provide all the social stuff you'll need on a tab - just ask them.

And on it goes. Secure? Yes. To the paranoid point of crippling your site? Nearly.

Basically designed to try to box you into spending more to let their tech do it for you...
but it IS stable and online 99.999999999 percent of the time, which is better than many hosts.

I was able to publish a pretty good website using their web builder tool. I have had no downtime accessing webpages. I seem to have a good ranking with Google. All that is good.

The one real horrible dissapointment is the email service that comes with the web hosting package. It is just horrible. Sometimes I can not get on. Sometimes it takes 4 minutes to log on just to check an email. I routinely get error messages ("stack overflow" etc) that make no sense. They 1) obviously have way inadequate servers for email, and 2) have poor implementation of the software (which appears to be openexchange based).

I am seriously thinking of dumping them JUST BECAUSE OF THE EMAIL. Everything else is top notch!

In the last ten minutes I get: "Error establishing a database connection" when I click on our website. Since I continuously work on our website I notice this all the time. Many short outages. Sometimes just a minute or two but yesterday there were longer ones. By the time I call the support and reach someone usually is fixed. They say sometimes it happens that they reboot their servers and this happens. But it happens too often. Yesterday there was an outage for over 20 minutes. Most people don't notice this because they are not always on their website. This is awful if you run PPC campaigns since you pay for clicks so it can go to an error page. This is bad. I have to look for a more reliable service. (by the way it is still saying that. I can't reach our site)

I'm a little confused by the reviews that state that they have been using network for years and they can't stand them. If you don't like the service, then change. I've been using them for over 5 years and am very satisfied. If I wasn't, I'would have moved on.

network solutions has been a pioneer in this career which is why i trusted them my entire company.

i never had any problems with network solutions and maybe that is the reason why i decided to stay with them for about 8 years now.

their customer service is great, reps are very humble and very patient in dealing with the customers.

the interface of network solutions however, are a little hard to navigate at first especially for those who are not well educated with technical stuff. but as you continue to navigate the account manager, you can find the resolution to your problem yourself!

that's the reason why i highly recommend network solutions especially for the newbies on this field since they have 24/7 customer live support and no hidden charges with your account!
