    Overall Rating:
    Hosting Plan: Advanced
Time with Dotster: 1 to 3 months
    Support: Very unresponsive
    Interface: Very difficult and inadequate

Everything on post below is true. I saw some better free hosting companies. Dotster wasn't my choice, it was choice of client and I told him that I will not work with him if he stay on dotster.
I thing that they don't have a support!!! For live support I waited over half hour and then when I asked for php5 because they don't have that option in control panel support told me that php5 sholud be available for 20 minutes. I am waiting 24 hours. I sent them a email but I don't have response. I needed over 30 minutes to find where I can create database.
I must tell that I have presentations on at least 10 hosting companies and doster is NOT a hosting company!!!

dreadful responses, or none, or ignored queries

    Overall Rating:
    Hosting Plan: Advanced
Time with Dotster: 1 to 3 months
    Support: Very unresponsive
Interface: A little confusing at first

Since purchasing a web hosting package (advanced Linux)it's been a series of unhappy issues.
First there's no access to the domain via FTP.
    Just no response at all.
That eventually semi-out of the way, and setting up a trial web page which is uploaded to a new directory, etc, etc., there's no way to see this
    new website materialize on screen.
Emails to customer care result in automated responses, never a direct dealing with the problem at hand.
Using a 'direct', live help via chat to Dotster
was an experience just causing my gander to rise.
This woman just did not respond, her own mode being in 'listening', where it remained while I had long ago posed the question and was WAITING for her response. It simply did not happen and I
terminated this monologue after waiting seemingly
    'forever'.
Worst of all are automated emails from Dotster's
customer care, which claim that they have not had my replies to their own mails, therefore assumed to have the 'ticket' resolved.
Repeated mails from my side to insist on the issue not being resolved at all and asking for a
'real person' just produced more of these irritating and identical responses by Dotster.
To date I have not seen my web site on screen nor have had the good fortune to actually deal with a person who has an identifiable name.
I would like to cancel this account and get my money back but assume such a suggestion to open
another nerving sequence of unwanted and time-robbing correspondence with blips that leads to unsatisfactory blips, period.
It's like dealing with a brainless entity.
What this server needs ( and others..) is to assign its assistance agents the responsibilities to accept a specific problem from a client and stick with it until resolved.
As it stands, or seems so,.... the buck is passed, robots do the repeated bulk of the preliminary responses to emails or, worse.
employees are insufficiently armed with enough
expertise or knowledge to deal with the such diverse isuues.
These are assumptions, of course, and it's not for me as client to guess what the problems are on a provider's side.
Instead, it'd be wonderful to see a real human response to see that one gets one's money's worth
and a functioning domain with all its ingredients.
Dotster, finally, has been a rather disappointing
    provider.
Based on my entire dealings, Dotster is not to be
recommended to any aspiring domain owner.
